Appearances

S2E6 — FoTA - Sands of the Arena (Fate of the Arbiter, Part 2)

. Orin’s son.

  • A werebear in black plate, wielding two Void swords of “solidified gloom.” The swords cut portals in reality, create singularities, and shatter portals like mirrors.
  • True form: a Goliath, bald, 7 ft, grey skin, tiger-stripe tattoos.
  • Heard the Arbiter confess and vowed to take his head “someday.”
  • Saved the trio, and dove into the void to save Locket. Exhausted by the magic.
  • Leads a small band at a covert raid hideout in a blacksmith shop; “I guess you would call us the Faithful.”
  • Phrases: “the cut of your jib,” “two in the hand, one in the pantry.”

Coriander Society, Fate of the Faithful Part 1 (A Crossover)

  • Appearance: a 7–8 ft white-furred werebear in grey and black plate armor over furs.
  • Weapons: two light-swallowing black void swords. A cut can open a singularity that sucks the victim in, or a portal that sends limbs or halves elsewhere.
  • Portals: slices portals in space to dodge, teleport, dive through enemies’ chests, and let allies attack through them.
    • The sword that lets an ally attack through a portal is a greater silver sword that can cut an astral silver cord on a crit.
    • Artificer-infused teleport boots.
  • Other powers: paladin powers (smites, lay on hands, an aura of protection); green flame blade that burns with black fire.
  • Family and past: son of Orin. The Arbiter saved Orin as a child when his village burned, and later betrayed and murdered him.
  • The rebels: leads Orin’s former men from the Eastern Outpost, who deserted the Grandmaster’s forces to serve her “from the shadows.” Many are wanted for treason.
  • Personality: calls himself “servant of the Grandmaster” (“in a way”). Old-fashioned about looting the dead. Rambles a little “like an old man”. “Not a tactician… a soldier.” His inner struggle is living up to his father’s legacy.
  • In this episode: killed Hathim by decapitating him through a portal.

Coriander Society - Fate of the Faithful Part 2 (A Crossover)

. A leader of the Faithful, newly in leadership.

  • Daily life: sleeps on his warped work table; eats Frank’s food daily, “dead inside.”
  • Background:
    • Wanted to be a cartographer; his strict father Orin made him a soldier. He draws the Faithful’s maps himself.
    • Not a planner: “kick down the door and portal in.”
    • A tinkerer who crafted his own metal gauntlets and boots.
  • Abilities and gear:
    • Void swords that cut portals.
    • Divine sense (shows as void cracks through the stones), smites, green-flame blade, misty step, stone’s endurance.
    • Magic Missile rune tattoo on his palm from John.
    • Now carries the Ogre Revolver, and accidentally shot someone through a wall.
  • Prophecy: “You will fight… again and again. Until you are amongst the sand.” The Seer says he is not a great man, “Not yet.”
  • Accepted the Glory of the Grandmaster duel against Ganyu Sinmal.

Coriander Society - Fate of The Faithful Part 3 — A Crossover

. A “Werebearer” (bear-folk) Faithful member with Void Swords of ethereal blackness.

  • Can absorb their void/chaos energy to go “even further beyond”: black eyes and black chaos flames.
  • Abilities shown: smites, green-flame blade, Lay on Hands, Misty Step, Vortex Warp (an ethereal one-person portal), an Artificer “repulsion” blast, Stone’s Endurance, teleporting boots, a +1 aura.
  • Defeated Ganyu Sinmal from inside its mouth.
  • Serves the Grandmaster and offered Circe redemption “to serve the Grandmaster in her glory.” Gives Kenny orders.
  • His glued boot “was my father’s.” Thinks he’s funny (the chair joke). Claimed he couldn’t swim, then said he was kidding.

Coriander Society — Fate of the Faithful Part 4 (A Crossover)

. A Goliath who is also a werebear, and stays in bear form “all the time now” in memory and honor of his father.

  • Background:
    • His father Orin was turned as a child in an attack on his village that killed his family. The Arbiter saved Orin from that attack.
    • The Arbiter later killed Orin; Lyrus heard of the death only secondhand.
  • Role: a member of the Faithful. He took part in the storming of the eastern stronghold when the Faithful believed the Arbiter had been kidnapped.
  • Powers and gear:
    • Opens portals by stabbing his two swords (void swords) into the air and ripping reality. Returning somewhere is easier than going somewhere unseen.
    • Green-flame blade, divine smite, Hunter’s Mark, misty step, Stone’s Endurance.
    • Resistant to psychic damage. Level 12.
  • In this episode: made giant by Circe and used as a bridge. Duelled and killed the Draconic Death Knight. Last seen engulfed by the hellfire orb.
  • Funded by chat member “Jack” (600 gp, 400 ep, then another 1,000 gp).

Coriander Society — Fate of the Faithful Part 5 (A Crossover)

. A member of the Faithful, described by the DM as a “werebear Goliath warrior.”

  • Normally about 9–10 ft tall (Large). Circe made him gargantuan, then shrank him back.
  • Driven by his father’s legacy and his fight against the Arbiter.
  • Gear and powers:
    • Void Swords and green flame blade.
    • Thunder gauntlets (artificer-made).
    • Smites, lay on hands, Vow of Enmity, Stone’s Endurance, guardian armor.
    • Misty step / void step, and Vortex Warp (rips a teleport portal).
  • Personality and lore:
    • Rich (“I’m loaded”). Has “a little bit of a temper. I’m working on it.”
    • Scared of heights. Firearms are “not my thing.”
  • In this episode:
    • Survives a Hellball and a Soul Tear, and beats down a Bogatyr mecha.
    • Warps the frozen Vargas in front of the shadow monster.
    • Keeps the (replica) ewer for the Seer.
    • Gives John 400 electrum. Says the Faithful aim “to reach the Grandmaster.”

S2E17 — Fate of the Arbiter - The Hall of Fates — Toddleheim, Locket and Flynry reach the Grandmaster

Leader figure of the Faithful’s HQ, called “the bear.”

  • Two Void swords that look like “a black chasm in space”; enemies they kill fold into small black voids. One blade was dulled by acid.
  • Casts Haste and Bless, and channels divinity (Vow of Enmity).
  • No longer in charge of strategy; nostalgic for open-field warfare.
