The chinchillas of the Void (“chinkillas”) are the Dread Fortress’s workforce and a staple of chaos events.

  • Unionized. They take regulated lunch breaks (a whistle blows: “That’s lunch, boys”), refuse overtime, expect triple pay when Thea promises it, and are no longer allowed to clean up biohazard. “It’s canon. It’s been established.”
  • Immune to magic, and throwable.
  • They range from tiny to moose-sized. In Chinchilla Forest they roll in pools of talcum powder.
  • Notables: Frank, the cigarette-smoking lead chinchilla with sciatica (S7E5); a hard-hat foreman; a hibachi chef; Wicked, Jinx’s chinchilla; and Chinchilla the White, kicked into the sun by Akumu, who came back platinum and fifteen feet tall (S7E3).

Everything below is compiled from the episode pages, in show order.

S4E4 — Death Dealers — The Scourge v Bone Daddy

S5E6 — American Amphibian — King Man Frog Bofus v Richard Knottley

Dread Fortress security, “highly unionized,” work out in the gym with the goblins. “The chinchillas work for me” (the Lord of Fate).

S5E11 — Appliance Adversaries — Atlas v Frigidoom

Seven of them, kept in the Dread Fortress caverns and released into the Chinchilla Forest for a “sabbatical.” They mimic Thea.

  • A plump grey one with a cigarette.
  • A ginger-striped one.
  • The radical chinchilla: “2000” glasses, tattoo sleeves, snap bracelets, 40 limited-edition pogs. Given to the Box.
  • “Concordae”, who helped Frigidoom.
  • A group is “a herd” (stated with confidence by Atlas).

S5E15 — Cosmic Collision — Teddy Oso v Ragu

S6E5, Tip to Tip - Part 2 (Richard Knottley v Richard S. Skelman, the leadership Deathmatch)

  • Escaped the Fortress cage.
  • Twelve wore fake mustaches and got front-row seats.

  • They sleep cuddling kitchen and steak knives and kick shins.
  • One wears a hard hat and smokes (“Get them, boys!”). One gets up at night for hot milk.

S7E2 — Under the Oil Tree — Big Business v Bog Boy

Trained in the chinchilla room’s simulator. Unionized.

S7E3 — Chinchilla the White — Akumu v Jinx

  • Under the new union rules they no longer clean up biohazard.
  • A hard-hat chinchilla mourned a sun-kicked chinchilla who “had six children.” A horde of them flipped Akumu tiny middle fingers.

S7E9 — Necro-Nightmare — Squiggles v Ray S’urdead

Fortress workers on union break, expecting overtime and then triple pay. One walks onto the field to flag a safety violation.
