Skypiercer is the three-part prequel mini-series (it aired inside Season 3) that tells how Elusia became Grandmaster. It’s the only story that leaves The Void.
- Before: on the Night of the Long Shadow, Agdrel killed his brother Faucius Golden Shield and became The Shadow King. The Knights of Chaos gave their lives in a blood rite to send young Elusia to Cor’thun, a realm outside the Void. There she was raised and trained by Empress Juntikar.
- The story: after decades of study, Vythorn (The Arbiter) crossed into Cor’thun to bring Elusia home. With Atalantos and Kaja she returned and defeated the Shadow King after his 300-year reign. Elusia became Grandmaster and the first Deathmatches began, about 400 years before Season 1.
- Epilogue: Vythorn sealed the Shadow King’s soul in The Box of Chaos as “Gerald.” The effort turned his wings white.
- Themes: death, a long life, and why the people around us matter.
